The National Research Foundation

ARUA and the National Research Foundation (NRF) in South Africa have had a long-standing relationship that dates back to the formation of ARUA.

The NRF was one of the key partners who provided ARUA with a foundation grant that facilitated the establishment of the Network over three years from 2016 – 2018. The NRF also provided funding for the ARUA Biennial Conference held in Kenya in 2019.

The NRF continues to express its belief in the ARUA vision and mission. Following ARUA’s application for the renewal of the grant, the NRF in December 2020 approved a grant of R350,000 per annum over the period 2021 – 2024 to support the running of the Network.
